That is why I have a hard time accepting the Last as an established source on Naruto’s perception of feelings and love. Because, as it stands, he understands it better than anyone else in his generation, neither Sakura, Sasuke, or any of the others even comes close. The Last makes it seem as though he is oblivious to all forms of love, but that isn’t true, he is only oblivious to is how Hinata shows her affection. Naruto himself doesn’t understand her shyness or what it meant because he himself isn’t shy at all.

That is my main problem with the Last, it basically trashes how perceptive Naruto actually is, and makes it seem like he can’t understand people unless it is showed or spelled out to him. They even made tons of random past scenes we never saw in the original series, just to tie it together. It literally proves what a waste of time that movie is, it shoves 15 years worth of relationship build-up into 2 hours. And sort of continues to prove my theory that Kishimoto changed his mind about who Naruto was going to end up with.
