The popular mangas first editor, 41 year old Jung Hyun Park, has been arrested for the allegedly murdering his 38 year old wife at their Tokyo residence last year (2016).

Park was Attack on Titans chief editor when the manga launched back in (2009) in “Bessatsu Shonen Magazine”. As of last June, he had moved to the manga Weekly Morning and was no longer editing the Attack on Titan.

According to the Sankei News (via-Tokyo Reporter), Park phoned emergency services on 9 August at 2:50am, saying that his wife had collapsed. When officer’s arrived on the scene, they found Park wife on her back at the foot of the stairs with the light scratches on her face.

The cause of death was later revealed to be suffocation, with oxygen being cut off due to pressure around her throat.

Initially, Park said his wife had fallen down from the stairs, but later changed his story, and saying she had committed suicide by hanging herself on the staircases handrail.

Jung Hyun Park has four children’s with his deceased wife.
